Backgrounds done right
Video coming soon — the written steps below cover everything.
DWG backgrounds
- Import the architect's DWG as the background reference.
- Toggle its layers: keep walls and the ceiling grid, hide furniture, electrical, and the landscaping nobody needs.
PDF backgrounds
- Got only a PDF? Import it as CAD — SprinkFlow extracts the real vector linework and layers (the same engine as lesson A8), not a fuzzy raster image.
- Use the color and layer pickers on import to take only the linework you want.
Scale is everything
Confirm the background's scale before placing anything — every spacing check downstream trusts it. Measure a known dimension (a door, a grid bay) and verify it reads true.
Dim the background: keep background linework grey and let your heads and coverage carry the color. Your eye finds the design instantly and screenshots look plan-check ready.
