LESSON B2

Coverage cells & head arrays

What you'll learn: how to lay out whole rooms at once with Coverage Cells — rectangles that fill themselves with a compliant head array.

Video coming soon — the written steps below cover everything.

The idea

Instead of clicking heads one at a time, draw a Coverage Cell over the area — the cell computes the rows and columns of heads that cover it within your spacing limits, and places them.

Using cells

  1. Draw a cell across the room or bay. The head array appears inside it, spaced within your sprinkler's listed coverage.
  2. Drag a cell edge and the array recomputes live.
  3. Ctrl-drag a cell to copy it — repeating bays take seconds.
  4. Cells snap edge-to-edge, so adjacent areas tile without gaps or double rows.
  5. Delete a cell and its heads go with it — the cell owns them.
Cells + singles mix fine: use cells for the big regular areas and place single heads for closets and odd corners. The coverage shading treats them all the same.
