Vicinity maps

What you'll make: a vicinity map exhibit for the project — the site located on a street map, generated from an address or a pin you drop yourself.

The normal path

  1. Open the Vicinity Map tool and start typing the project address — suggestions appear as you type.
  2. Pick the match and SprinkFlow generates the map exhibit centered on the site.

When the address won't resolve

New construction often isn't in map data yet — the road may not exist online. SprinkFlow degrades gracefully instead of giving up:

  1. It retries with the house number stripped, then the nearest locatable match, labeling the result as an area match so you know.
  2. Or take over: hit Pick on Map, zoom the street map to the site, and click to drop the pin exactly where the project is.
  3. Know the coordinates from the civil drawings? Enter latitude/longitude directly.
Brand-new subdivisions: zoom to the nearest existing intersection and pin from there — the map renders the surrounding streets that DO exist, which is what the fire department actually needs to find the site.
